Garry Adkins has been a Certified Massage Therapist Instructor since 1994 and is a NCBTMB Approved Continuing Education Provider. He is a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee Sports Medicine Society, International Association of Healthcare Practitioners, American Massage Therapy Association, and past president of the Association of Michigan Myomassologists Inc.
Garry is a
current speaker for Cross Country Education, a workshop instructor for Lakewood School of Therapeutic Massage in Michigan, published author and nationwide featured speaker. He is a previous speaker for Educating Hands School of Massage in Florida, AKS Massage School in Virginia, and a past senior faculty member at Irene's Myomassology Institute in Michigan.
Garry specializes in the treatment of elite athletes with injury rehabilitation and consults with many of the areas finest athletic trainers including Ironman Champion Laura Sophiea, Jan Jacobs, Scott George and movie star trainer Michael Knight from Art of Strength training center in Michigan.
Garry has traveled to St. Moritz, Switzerland as the team massage therapist for the U.S. Olympic team at the Bobsled and Skeleton World Championships. Garry was selected as a team member of the 2002 Winter Olympic Massage Team in Salt Lake City, Utah and was celebrated for his contributions by the USOC Performance Services Division at the NATA Convention in St. Louis.
Garry was nominated for Massage Therapist of the Year by Detroit Monthly magazine. The first person to ever demonstrate massage therapy techniques at a World’s Fair in Seville, Spain (United States pavilion). He has been a featured speaker at the Humanistic Medicine Procedure Lecture at Wayne State Medical School, and the Michigan Chiropractic Society Fall Convention. He also participated in the Sports Medicine Division Volunteer program for the United States Olympic Committee.
